Let’s Make A Dessert-“Chocolate Mousse”

Hi girls, today I am on leave from my office and have a mood of cooking (by the way it happens rarely 😉 ). I want to try something new or interesting or something chocolaty. So, I have decided to make “Chocolate Mousse” ( I love this :*). As many of us don’t know what is “mousse” thus I am explaining this.
Mousse: It is a french word which means foam and it is prepared food that incorporates air bubbles to give it a light and airy texture. It’s lighter texture comes from whipping air into the mixture. It gets its airy consistency by folding whipped egg whites or whipped cream into the base mixture.
Dessert Mousses: These are typically made with whipped egg whites or whipped cream and flavored with chocolate, coffee, caramel, puréed fruits or various herbs or spices such as mint or vanilla.

LET’S START WITH “CHOCOLATE MOUSSE”

This mousse is the simplest dessert that can be ready in few minutes. I am wondering what was stopping me not to make this wonderful, easy dessert. This dessert doen’t contain any egg, gelatin or any artificial colors. And yes when you combine cream and chocolate then it just takes you to a heavenly bliss.
INGREDIENTS
200 ml Whipping Cream
100 grams Dark Chocolate (or any chocolate )
2 tablespoon Icing Sugar

STEPS FOR “CHOCOLATE MOUSSE” !!

You can make whipped cream at home with the help of whipped powder which normally available in every market.Melt the chocolate either by using double boiler method(Take a saucepan with

STEP 1: First, melt the chocolate either by using double boiler method ( where you can take a saucepan with a glassful of water and bring to a simmer then put a bowl (with chocolate) on the top of it.And make sure that the bowl should not touch the water. Keep stirring it for a while and you’ll notice chocolate will start melting. Once it gets melt completely then it will look smooth and shiny. Now, remove the bowl from the heat. OR you can melt chocolate by microwaving. Just keep the bowl with chocolate pieces in Microwave for 30 seconds. Give it a stir to break all the lumps.

STEP 2: Let the chocolate mixture cool down to room temperature, It may take 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, you can take a chilled heavy whipping cream in a bowl. First, to get a perfect result use chilled cream and mix it in a bowl and later on refrigerate it for two hours.

STEP 3: Now, take the mixture outside from the refrigerator and start whipping the cream with icing sugar by using hand-mixer and whip it for few minutes till you get the soft peaks. Do not over-mix it otherwise cream might turn into butter.

STEP 4: Next, mix the melted chocolate( on room temperature) into the whipped cream by cut and fold method. And be gentle otherwise the whipped cream will lose all the airiness.

STEP 5: Divide the mousse into individual serving bowls or glasses. And slightly tap the glasses to set the mousse. Lastly, keep the glasses or bowls in the refrigerator for 2 or more hours.

Let’s enjoy this “chocolate mousse” with your family or friends, this is my first recipe post if you like this recipe then please stay with us for more recipes !!
